Hi ! I am Somya Garg, a 23 year old self-taught abstract artist based in New Delhi, India. I make Abstract Art. If someone gave Messi a baseball bat and wanted him to become the best baseball hitter of the world, can one even imagine Messi with a baseball bat? Messi himself would not be able to imagine this why, because he once said "My motivation comes from playing the game I love." This goes for me as well. I make abstract art because this is what I love, what I am absolutely best at, given the other choices like interest in English literature. Abstract Art rejuvenates me every time I complete a piece. I work in two ways, sometimes planned or inspired (The Beauty of Belize) & other times just intuitively where I allow my hand to freely flow on the canvas without planning my brush strokes (Ballerina). My work helps me to broaden my outlook. It gives me a sense of freedom to express how I feel and view the world as well as it helps me to be grounded in the present moment. Art acts as a gateway for me that helps me strengthening my connection with God & with myself. I make distinctive styles of art as that allows me to not limit myself both as an artist and as a human being. The art that I create are somehow a way to peek into my soul as it is intuitive. Creating art has always been more than a profession to me because it gives me a sense of purpose and relief at the same time. I believe that art connects people in unexplainable ways.

I believe art connects a being to a perspective other than their own which helps in broadening one's perspective and stirs some emotions within a viewer that automatically strengthens the bond between the artwork and the viewer/buyer.
